A SAFE HOUSE - A SOCIAL ORGANIZATION - A SOCIETY
People live in a world where society forces us to unwillingly expose ourselves. With the enlargement of urbanization, big cities now allow people to be invisible, while also increasing the anxiety to be invisible. When people have to constantly serve as the exposure itself to gain recognition, being in others’ attention becomes surveillance. We are trapped in others’ watching and fulfilling the expectations that we don’t want to fulfill.
I believe that we should be able to live in the cities in normal lives that have a way to reveal ourselves from all the attention, expectation, and social surveillance. While using worldbuilding as the main tool to create a non-existent social organization, I transformed ready-made objects to become Anonymousociety objects and made artifacts and narratives. These works ironically address that people have already had a reaction to the world whether they are intentional.
